He should be 60 now
Friday, July 24th, 2009I have learned news this week about friends of friends dying. These guys are just about my age. One died of stab wounds. The other one didn’t wake up anymore after an operation which took off a tumor in his brain.
I feel sad especially for the people they left behind. Their young deaths reminds us that life is short, we ought to make the best with living so that when death comes, we are ready.
We felt a deep loss when my father died. It was shocking to know that my father will be lost forever in just a matter of seconds. My father died in the loving arms of my mother when he died instantly from a gunshot piercing his lungs and heart. It was fatal. My mother, a doctor, could not bring him back.
Whenever I hear people dying unexpectedly, I feel their family’s pain. It is hard really.
But then again, as yet our time is not up, we ought to make the best life stories ever told. Best I mean make it more meaningful by honing our talents and sharing them with the world, liiving life with an open heart making no room for regrets, hatred, anger and fear. Fulfillment comes when we love, forgive and trust.
These are the probably the things that my father would teach me through his death. Be not afraid to live coz the gift of life is just temporary.
To my dear father, Happy Birthday! We miss you!
